Astronomy and Cosmology
Cosmology is the name for a range of sciences, including physics and astronomy, an explanation of how the universe works as an integrated company will provide. Over the centuries, from the Pythagoreans in Greece during the sixth Century BC, considered the possibility that the earth is spherical, the cosmology has gone a long way and has built a number of different areas of science.
Cosmology developed from the observation of those Greeks, who have interpreted the natural laws of celestial bodies, which ultimately developed the Ptolemaic model in the second century AD. Centuries later, in the 16th Century, the Copernican system was developed, the theories on astronomy and cosmology – was followed in the 20th Century by the theories of relativity and the theory of relativity Albert Einstein General. Overall, however, the case for cosmology is that states that the laws of physics work the same everywhere and it is the homogeneity of the universe.
“The Holographic Universe”, written by Michael Talbot tells their story in two parts: the first 55 pages devoted to the examination of the model of David Bohm Holographic Universe – simplified in the everyday language of Talbot. The second part of the book focuses on the events of any paranormal, at the same time trying to rationalize the holographic model. Talbot takes the reader Karl Pribram, and the philosophies of David Bohm.
Chemistry
Chemistry and Biochemistry often go hand in hand,] existing in parallel with other scientific disciplines such as nutrition [Food Science. McCance and Widdowson, who is "the composition of food is" food composition tables and updates as much nutrition as a science. The foreword to the 6th Edition was written by Sir John Krebs, while the actual band itself is a valuable reference book for dietitians and nutritionists is worldwide.
Meanwhile, described "Principles of Biochemistry" by Nelson D as a "modern approach of Biochemistry been. Personally, written one of the best books of biochemistry that I had ever met one of Patterson - now, alas, exhausted long ago. I write my exams successfully pass through the of Biochemistry at the presence of Patterson, who, when I was done, was dented special! Nelson D's "Principles of Biochemistry is really the best thing next to Patterson and a worthy successor.
Earth Sciences and Geography
Earth Sciences is an umbrella term for a wide range of natural sciences as referred to above. They relate to the exploration of the earth and how the various parts to put together that this is the classical homogeneous function of science to produce linked. If you are interested in the world around you, then you may be interested in a beautiful book by Gavin Pretor-Pinney. The book "The Cloud Collector's Handbook" is full of beautiful pictures, among which you will find a brief description of each cloud and space for you to will record your own observations. There is certainly a new connotation, his head in the clouds!
Education
If you think there is no difference in the world between someone who likes school and someone who wants to learn: it must not necessarily follow that, if you love to learn, then you have to have love school. Education is to learn for the joy of winning new information. Such learning may or may not be associated with the school, it can even touch on topic. The proof is in the book by Richard Dawkins be viewed "The greatest show on earth: the evidence for evolution.
Dawkins is to explain to his readers how fossils can be dated with precision educate, while the tectonic plates, etc., before entering into the details, such as those on the global distribution of plants and animals and can be linked to the effects of changes in these physical elements can have it. Dawkins said, but he knew [and could not be?] From the great debate on evolution V creation, are not in the details around this eternal conflict.
Engineering and Technology
A book that I recommend simply a fantastic book written by Jo Marchant. You will find in our nature and science, under the engineering and technology. The first thing is to say that this is not dry and boring technical Tome. This book tells the story behind a particular artifact in ancient Greece and what it took to decode the hidden mysteries. The book is called “Decoding the sky: the solution to the mystery of the world’s first computer.” I wish Jo Marchant had found a strange title for his book because the title is not really in this book justice.
The book tells the story of the Antikythera Mechanism, which has shown remarkable abilities as an astronomical calculator: Scientists estimate its complexity at least 1,500 years before his time. The Antikythera mechanism artifact is about 2000 years and was found during a dive in 1901. Scientists have tried to penetrate its mysteries since. So, if there is a real mystery, the life that you want, or a book that is a bit different, I recommend this book well written and interesting Jo Marchant.
There are countless other sub-genres are in our section of science and nature, for a wide range of topics. If you are a fan of the Border Collie, writes Barbara Sykes, a treatise on the lovely “Understanding the Border Collie. This is an excellent book from someone who really understands the nuances, which is written in the composition of this breed go is an absolute must “for anyone who loves Border Collies. Changing dogs, elephants, I definitely recommend” The Elephant Whisperer: Learning about life, loyalty and freedom of a herd of elephants remarkable – it really is your heart draw, you have to scream with laughter ! All other options in this section – probably surprise you treasure titles on our website!
